    Gary is a serial entrepreneur with a relentless passion for building products that create significant and measurable social impacts. As Managing Director of Social Sense, Gary has co-created multi-award winning programmes in the areas of Social Norms, Social Action and Social Marketing.

    Gary’s current leading project is an app and programme supporting people with Dementia and their carers called Greater Moments www.greatermoments.org.ukPrior to and alongside this, Gary has co-created multi-award winning programmes in the areas of Social Norms www.rudifferent.co.uk, Domestic Abuse www.movingonproject.org and Mindfulness www.mindful-me.co.uk.

    When capacity permits Gary uses his direct 20+ years experience to consult for a range of socially focussed businesses and charities, primarily in the areas of social marketing and behaviour change.

    Striking the balance between disruptive innovation and evidence based approaches, Gary’s work has seen Health & Social Care Partnerships, CCGs and Police Forces achieve Realisable Benefits in the areas of Dementia, Alcohol, Smoking, Violent Crime, Domestic Abuse, Self-Harm, Anxiety and Stress.

    Guided by strong social values, Gary’s mission is to keep driving forward the early intervention and prevention agenda – proven to measurably improve lives and drastically reduce pressures on our public services.

  • Julie Stones
    Senior Programmes Manager

    Graduating from University of York with a degree in Linguistics and Education, Julie first worked at The Government Communications Headquarters in Cheltenham where her pool of languages increased to 5. She then moved to Hong Kong for a number of years where she got involved in charity work and found that working with children and young people in particular was rewarding and inspiring.

    A change of career on her return to the UK took Julie into Kent County Council, one of the largest local authorities in the country. After 13 years in senior management, Julie took the opportunity to move into the charitable sector as a consultant working with multiple charities and bidding and leading on some large commissioned services including an emotional well-being service for all young people in Kent, parenting programmes, NEET, youth provision, breastfeeding campaign, maternal mental health campaign, community budgeting and Talent Match.

    Julie has been brought in to lead the development of Mindfulness for the children’s workforce in Kent, working with schools, voluntary and community sector, HeadStart Kent and the local authority. Julie has contributed to the successful bidding on 3 projects in Kent.

    Julie enjoys spending time with her four grown-up children, friends, two dogs and travelling abroad at every opportunity.

    Senior Research Consultant

    Jenny is a Research Consultant with over ten years professional experience in health and social care research. Jenny graduated with an MSc in Health Psychology in 2007 and subsequently spent five years working within the research team at the Marketing and Communications Agency, ICE Creates, delivering numerous end-to-end behavioural change campaigns.

    In 2013, Jenny set up as a freelance research consultant and has quickly developed an excellent reputation as a hard-working, reliable and professional Research Consultant. Jenny has specific expertise in project management, desk based / contextual research, designing bespoke research tools (e.g. postal / online / face-to-face questionnaires, structured and unstructured discussion guides), undertaking fieldwork in an array of settings, qualitative and quantitative analysis and report / presentation writing.
    Jenny is a supplier for market research services for the NHS North of England Commissioning Support Unit and Sunderland City Council as well as a Research Associate for Social Sense, ICE Creates and DJS Research.

    Jenny is a member of the Market Research Society and the Social Research Association. In her spare time, Jenny enjoys spending time with her family and loves travelling.
